    The Seideman Family

    A global network

In a remarkable confluence of philanthropy and medical excellence, the Seideman(n) family - whose name occasionally appears with one or two 'n's due to transliteration differences across various countries - has assumed leadership of the LCG Group. This acquisition marks not merely a change in corporate governance but embodies a profound commitment to the greater good.

The Seideman(n)s, a family that has produced generations of physicians and lawyers, view the LCG Group as more than just a business venture. They see it as a platform to give back to a world that has often treated them kindly. Their commitment is rooted in a deep gratitude for the opportunities and success they've experienced in different parts of the globe.

In a world where the pursuit of profit often takes precedence, the Seideman(n)s have chosen a different path. While they excel in their respective professions as doctors and lawyers, they use the LCG Group as a vehicle for altruistic action. Here, their professional skills merge with their philanthropic ethos to make a significant contribution to society.

The acquisition of the LCG Group by the Seideman(n)s is thus more than a business transaction. It is an expression of a deeply rooted desire to effect positive change in the world. By focusing on rare diseases and innovative treatment methods, the family is utilizing their resources and expertise to provide help where it's most urgently needed.

This unique combination of family legacy, professional expertise, and philanthropic engagement makes the LCG Group, under the Seideman(n)s' leadership, a remarkable institution in healthcare. It embodies the idea that entrepreneurial success and social responsibility can and should go hand in hand.

The Lazar Medical Consortium Group (LCG) run by the Seideman family and Dr. Marius Lazar is an association (Art. 78 GR CV) which coordinates the activities of its members and represents them to the outside world. It serves as a "single point of contact" that facilitates contact with the ramified network of projects run by Dr. Marius Lazar and/or the Seideman family. Unlike its members, the LCG association itself is not active in any form of medical, teaching and/or entrepreneurial activities.

    Network

The digital world has greatly changed medicine, as well as teaching, research, etc. - Dr. Marius Lazar recognized this at an early stage and has since acted more quickly and flexibly in medicine, social commitment, but also in research and teaching through his networks. In addition, he has always included other colleagues in his consortium who would not have dared to take the step into the digital world without his digital expertise.

    Why a reorganization?

LCG has not undergone any reorganization, nor are there plans for such changes. The significant update in fall 2022 focused solely on our external presentation. This refresh was designed to provide clearer, more accessible information about LCG members' expertise and how to contact them. Given that all LCG members are medical professionals, we've entrusted the management of this enhanced communication strategy to PlusOne Media, our dedicated communications service provider.

  • HONORARY SEIDEMANS

In the annals of family lore, the Seideman clan stands out not just for its resilience and adaptability, but for its expansive heart and enduring memory. Like a well-tended garden, the Seideman family tree has grown branches that extend far beyond the reaches of mere genetics, embracing those who have touched our lives in profound and lasting ways.

We Seidemans pride ourselves on our good and long memory - a trait that serves not just as a repository of our history, but as a living testament to the relationships that have shaped us. In our worldview, family isn't defined solely by blood or name, but by the bonds of mutual support, shared experiences, and unwavering loyalty.

Enter the concept of the "Honorary Seideman" - a title not lightly bestowed, but one that carries the full weight of our gratitude and affection. It's our way of saying, "You may not have been born a Seideman, but you've earned a place in our hearts as surely as if you had been."

At the top of this illustrious list of Honorary Seidemans stand two pillars of support and friendship: our good old friend Dr. Marius Lazar and his beloved wife. Their story, intertwined with ours, is a beautiful example of how life's path can lead to unexpected but treasured connections.

Dr. Lazar, with his brilliant mind and compassionate heart, has been more than just a colleague or a friend. He's been a guiding light, a source of wisdom, and a steadfast ally through both calm and stormy seas. His contributions to our family and our work have been immeasurable, extending far beyond the realm of professional collaboration.

And by his side, Mrs. Lazar has been an equal force of nature - her warmth, insight, and unwavering support have made her an integral part of our extended family tapestry. Together, the Lazars embody the very essence of what it means to be Honorary Seidemans.

But the story doesn't end with the Lazars. Over the years, our family has been blessed with numerous individuals who have left an indelible mark on our lives. From mentors who believed in us when we were just starting out, to friends who stood by us through thick and thin, to colleagues who turned into confidants - each has played a role in shaping the Seideman legacy.

These Honorary Seidemans come from all walks of life - diverse in their backgrounds, professions, and experiences. What unites them is the impact they've had on our family. They are the ones who celebrated our triumphs as if they were their own, who offered a shoulder to lean on during challenging times, who challenged us to grow and evolve.

In embracing these kindred spirits as Honorary Seidemans, we acknowledge a fundamental truth: that family is not just about shared DNA, but shared values, shared experiences, and shared dreams. It's about the family we're born into and the family we choose.

This inclusive approach to family has enriched our lives immeasurably. It has broadened our perspectives, deepened our understanding of the world, and reinforced our belief in the power of human connection. Each Honorary Seideman brings their unique flavor to our family recipe, creating a rich and diverse tapestry of relationships that spans generations and transcends borders.

As we continue to write the Seideman family story, we do so with immense gratitude for these honorary members. They remind us that family is not a closed circle, but an ever-expanding sphere of love, support, and mutual respect.

To Dr. Marius Lazar, his wife, and all our Honorary Seidemans out there - named and unnamed, known and yet to be discovered - we say thank you. Thank you for being part of our journey, for enriching our lives, and for helping us redefine what family truly means.

In the grand tapestry of life, you are the golden threads that make our pattern shine brighter. You may not bear the Seideman name, but you carry the Seideman spirit - and for that, you will always have a home in our hearts and our history.

  • LCG Research

At the heart of the LCG Consortium (LCG Group) lies a dynamic, albeit small, medical research unit that punches well above its weight in the world of clinical research. Spearheaded by the renowned Prof. Dr. Carolina Diamandis, this innovative team is redefining the landscape of medical knowledge dissemination.

The research arm of LCG embodies a revolutionary approach to clinical studies, embracing a "clinician to clinician" model that bypasses traditional publication routes. This methodology is not just a departure from convention; it's a paradigm shift in how medical professionals share and access critical information.

Prof. Diamandis and her team have recognized that the pace of traditional academic publishing often lags behind the urgent needs of practicing clinicians, especially in the rapidly evolving field of rare diseases. In response, they've adopted a more direct and agile approach to knowledge sharing.

Instead of navigating the often lengthy and complex process of journal publication, the LCG research team leverages high-caliber, open-access depositories such as Zenodo, Authorea, Research Square, and Figshare. These platforms represent the cutting edge of academic communication, offering immediate dissemination of research findings to a global audience of medical professionals.

This approach offers several key advantages:

    1. Speed of Dissemination: Critical findings can be shared with the medical community in real-time, potentially saving lives and improving patient outcomes.

    2. Accessibility: By using open-access platforms, LCG ensures that their research is available to clinicians worldwide, regardless of institutional affiliations or financial constraints.

    3. Collaboration: These platforms foster direct interaction between researchers, allowing for rapid feedback, discussion, and iteration of ideas.

    4. Transparency: The open nature of these repositories promotes research integrity and allows for broader scrutiny and validation of findings.

    5. Interdisciplinary Reach: By breaking free from the confines of specific journal audiences, LCG's research can reach a more diverse group of medical professionals, potentially sparking innovative cross-disciplinary insights.

What makes this endeavor even more remarkable is its non-profit nature. The entire research initiative is made possible through the generous support of the Messianic Jewish Fellowship International. This backing not only provides financial support but also aligns with the ethical and spiritual values that underpin the LCG Consortium's mission.

The involvement of the Messianic Jewish Fellowship International adds a unique dimension to the research unit. It represents a beautiful synergy between faith-based values and cutting-edge medical science, demonstrating that spiritual conviction and scientific rigor can coexist and even enhance each other.

Prof. Diamandis and her team's work extends beyond just sharing research findings. They are actively building a community of like-minded clinicians who are committed to rapid knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving. This network effect amplifies the impact of their work, creating a ripple effect that touches patients' lives across the globe.

The research unit's focus on rare diseases is particularly significant. In a field where information is often scarce and scattered, the LCG Consortium's approach to rapid, open dissemination of findings can make a crucial difference. For patients with rare conditions, this could mean faster diagnoses, more effective treatments, and ultimately, improved quality of life.

As the medical world continues to grapple with the challenges of information overload and the need for rapid, reliable knowledge sharing, the LCG Consortium's research unit stands as a beacon of innovation. It demonstrates that with vision, dedication, and the right support, even a small team can have a profound impact on the global medical community.

The work of Prof. Diamandis and her team at the LCG Consortium is more than just research; it's a movement towards a more open, collaborative, and responsive medical science. It's a testament to the power of thinking outside the box and the incredible potential that lies in bridging the gap between clinical practice and cutting-edge research.

In essence, the LCG Consortium's research arm is not just contributing to medical knowledge; it's reshaping how that knowledge is shared and applied, potentially revolutionizing patient care in the process. It's a shining example of how innovative thinking, coupled with unwavering support and dedication, can push the boundaries of what's possible in medical research and practice.

  • Why LCG Research is needed

Fast spread of new findings using latest technology

In the fast-paced world of medical research, the journey from groundbreaking discovery to practical application often moves at a frustratingly slow pace. Recognizing this critical gap, LCG Research was established under the visionary leadership of Dr. Carolina Diamandis and Professor Dr. Seideman. Their mission: to accelerate the flow of vital medical knowledge from researchers to clinicians worldwide, ultimately improving patient care on a global scale.

LCG Research stands apart from traditional research institutions in two fundamental ways. First, it operates without the pursuit of profit, allowing for a pure focus on advancing medical knowledge for the greater good. Second, and perhaps most revolutionary, is its emphasis on digital academic channels and collaborations with independent researchers across the globe.

This innovative approach addresses several key challenges in the current medical research paradigm:

    1. Speed of Dissemination: By leveraging digital platforms, LCG Research can share findings almost instantaneously, bypassing the often lengthy traditional publication process.

    2. Global Accessibility: Digital channels allow for wider reach, ensuring that clinicians in remote or underserved areas have access to the latest medical advancements.

    3. Collaborative Spirit: By fostering partnerships with independent researchers worldwide, LCG Research taps into a diverse pool of expertise and perspectives, enriching the quality and applicability of their findings.

    4. Reduced Barriers: Without the constraints of profit-driven research, LCG can pursue lines of inquiry that might be overlooked by more traditional institutions, particularly in the realm of rare diseases.

Central to LCG Research's methodology is the concept of peer-to-peer learning, a powerful educational strategy that has gained significant traction in various fields, including medicine. This approach involves participants of equal standing engaging in collaborative learning, sharing knowledge, and discussing diverse perspectives.

In the context of medical research and practice, peer-to-peer learning offers numerous benefits:

    1. Enhanced Engagement: When clinicians learn from their peers, they often find the material more relatable and applicable to their daily practice. This increased engagement can lead to better retention and application of new knowledge.

    2. Improved Performance: Studies have shown that peer-to-peer learning can significantly enhance clinical skills and decision-making abilities. By discussing real-world cases and experiences, clinicians can develop a more nuanced understanding of complex medical issues.

    3. Diverse Perspectives: In an increasingly globalized world, exposure to diverse medical practices and approaches is crucial. Peer-to-peer learning facilitates the exchange of ideas across cultural and geographical boundaries, leading to more comprehensive and adaptable medical knowledge.

    4. Skill Development: Beyond medical knowledge, peer-to-peer learning helps develop crucial soft skills such as communication, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving – all essential in modern healthcare settings.

    5. Continuous Learning: The medical field is ever-evolving, and peer-to-peer learning fosters a culture of continuous education. It encourages clinicians to stay updated with the latest developments and to critically evaluate new information.

    6. Emotional Support: Particularly in challenging fields like rare disease treatment, peer-to-peer networks can provide much-needed emotional support and reduce professional isolation.

By integrating peer-to-peer learning principles into their digital dissemination strategy, LCG Research is not just sharing information – they're building a global community of engaged, collaborative medical professionals. This approach has the potential to transform how medical knowledge is shared, validated, and implemented in clinical practice.

Moreover, LCG Research's model addresses a crucial need in the medical community: the ability to rapidly respond to emerging health challenges. In an era where new diseases can spread globally in a matter of weeks, the speed at which medical knowledge can be disseminated and implemented can literally save lives.

The work of Dr. Diamandis and Professor Dr. Seideman through LCG Research represents a paradigm shift in medical research and education. By harnessing the power of digital technology, global collaboration, and peer-to-peer learning, they are paving the way for a more responsive, inclusive, and effective medical knowledge ecosystem.

As we look to the future of medicine, initiatives like LCG Research offer a glimpse of what's possible when innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to the greater good come together. Their work not only advances medical science but also democratizes access to that knowledge, potentially leveling the playing field in global healthcare and improving patient outcomes worldwide.
